Decision on Entertainment Radio Frequencies Held Off Until London Olympics

The broadcast spectrum used by the British entertainment industry will see no changes until after the completion of the 2012 London Olympic Games, as was recently decided by the communications watchdog, Ofcom.

Ofcom had initially decided to re-allot the Program Makers & Special Event (PMSE) frequencies spectrum, for use by the entertainment industry for radio microphones and the like. Towards the end of 2007, Ofcom had come up with the idea of appointing a new band manager in order to licence out the Program Makers & Special Event (PMSE) frequencies. The manager would have had to oversee the change to a market focus approach to the spectrum, which would have also entailed evicting the entertainment bunch from their frequencies..

However, with the Olympics coming to London in a little more than two years time, Ofcom has decided to wait for the this gala event to end before taking any conclusive action.

In fact, the Digital Dividend spectrumfree after the end of analogue TVwill also only be reallocated after the games are over.

Once the Olympics are over and a band manager is appointed, he/she would have to decide who to rent out the spectrum too; of course, the PMSE crowd will be given the first priority. The band manager will also be required to pay a substantial amount as license fee to get the spectrum up to market rates before it is rented.

Even as companies might not be happy about paying for new kits to be able to operate on the new frequencies, Ofcom it has made it clear that it can only bear the cost required for using the spectrum in the most efficient manner possible. Companies looking for funding will have to approach the Treasury.

American Idol Judge Simon Cowell Said on Thursday He Would like to Have Glam Singer Lady Gaga as a Mentor this Year

American Idol judge Simon Cowell said on Thursday he would like to have glam singer Lady Gaga as a mentor this year to the aspiring pop stars on the top-rated TV talent show. The Lady Gaga music video for Bad Romance was voted weirdest music video in a recent online poll.

And Cowell asserted the no 1 duty for his replacement as a judge next year was solid music biz experience, which would appear to disqualify American shock jock Howard Cruel who has been lobbying hard for the desirable job on his Sirius XM radio show. “I know Howard’s name has been in there, but I’m reasonably certain there has not been an approach at any point for Howard to do the show,” Cowell told writers in a conferencing call.

“He doesn’t appear to fit any of these ( music biz ) standards. But he manifestly wants the job! Good luck to him.” The scathing UK judge has been a fixture on the No. One Television show since it started in 2002. But he said in Jan that he would be leaving at the end of the existing season to launch his very own talent contest in 2011.

Asked who would be his dream coach in his last year, Cowell expounded ; “I think that we should have Lady Gaga as she is the most important pop artist in the world at the instant.

So I believe she should be number one ( on the list ). And I have met her. She is extremely smart. I like her.” Cowell brushed aside media reports he had clashed with “American Idol”’s latest judge, comic and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, calling her a “good choice.” “She is extremely answerable for folks she has performing on her very own show…She loves music and she’s been an artist,” he claimed. But he kept his famously brutal views to himself when asked to name his faves for his very own job.

“It’s like judging skating at the Olympics…You really have to know what you’re talking about. Over time ( Television ) judges have been substituted by personalities, and that in the long run will create issues because you have to be in a position to spot a star. “You’ve just got to find someone that can essentially make a change to the competitors, who isn’t scared to speak their minds, who is ready to be fair and sometimes blunt, but not to be gratuitously rude,” asserted Cowell, who runs a successful record label and made the Television shows “America’s Got Talent” and “The X Factor.” Cowell added that he would have liked to “go out on a high”, saying ; “It is my last season. I need it to achieve success and I may do everything I will to make it happen.”.

Zodiac Sign Horoscopes Are Often an Ideal Way to Understand Yourself in a Deeper Way

For many years people have been charmed by horoscopes, astrology, star signs, birth signs, and we have long looked to the stars for answers to our questions. for each person that actually believes in the power of astrology, there are 5 others who doubt and criticise astrology, and its systematic backing. I actually believe the stars can exhibit something about our personalities and the future, as my horoscope is generally shockingly correct. the dearth or credible results or systematic backing to its technique makes astrology a very criticised process, giving it a rep as a space filler in mags that you read in line at the superstore. Zodiac sign horoscopes are often an ideal way to understand yourself better

there were certain events that I have experienced thru my life which make me believe that astrology is not only a mystical hoax. I read my horoscope online each day and more frequently than not, my horoscope is correct to some level. I know plenty of folks who check their horoscopes daily in the news paper.

Many now receive free daily horoscopes online, but I also know some folks who pay to have their complete horoscope determined everyday. Though I’d never consider paying for my horoscope, they swear a complete horoscope is always just about completely accurate. For lots of us, we are fast to dismiss or shoot down anything that does not need to do with us or is in some form negative to us. when we are getting good news, weirdly enough, we are uplifted that there might be a chance of something good taking place to us. This is most likely thanks to the fact that human instinct makes us embrace any news of positive or good new, but we reject or disregard bad or negative reports.

Irrespective of the reasons, we have become a society that is intrigued by horoscopes, star signs, and star charts. I have mates that who will quickly admit that when ever they get into a new relationship ; they spend ages consulting their horoscope, star charts, and the heavens to ascertain their compatibility.

Leona Lewis Not Sure if it Is the Right Time to Release Avatar Song

Leona Lewis is reportedly facing a dilemma over whether to give her Avatar theme song an official release.

According to The Sun, the movie’s director James Cameron wants ‘I See You’ to be the next Leona Lewis single, but she is wary of releasing a new track so soon after her recent hit ‘Happy’.

A source said: “Leona Lewis was delighted to be part of Avatar but the song was never supposed to be released. But her cover of ‘Run’ wasn’t meant to be released either - and look how well that did.”

It is thought that Cameron would like ‘I See You’ to promote Avatar’s forthcoming cinema release. He is said to have tried to convince Lewis to change her mind by offering her a sneak preview of the big-budget film.

Leona Lewis is reportedly refusing to release a single to promote the blockbuster ‘Avatar’.

Leona Lewis is too busy with promotional duties for her own album ‘Echo’ to want to spend time plugging ‘I See You’, which is used in the £300 million film.

Angry director James Cameron has now given the star a sneak preview of the movie - the most expensive ever made - in an attempt to persuade her to release the song but she is still said to be unable to make up her mind.
